Abstract

The study aims at determining the role of testosterone deficiency in the development of insulin resistance in men with type 2 diabetes and coronary heart disease. Expressed hypotestosteronemia was found in patients with type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease and in their combination. It is established, that decrease in the level of testosterone influences to a certain extent the development of atherogenic dyslipidaemia. In all groups of patients the researchers detected expressed insulin re-sistance, which is accompanied by compensatory hyperinsulinemia. Atherogenic dyslipidemia was identified in all surveyed groups.
